Lot 280 James A. Pike
Episcopal bishop (1913–1969), and one of the first religious figures to appear regularly on television. TLS, one page, 6 x 9, Diocese of California letterhead, August 24, 1965. In part: “I think you might find it very enlightening to pursue for yourself some investigation into what the official doctrine of the Episcopal Church is. I should remind you to be careful before drawing any absolute conclusions: You may have a few surprises coming. I don’t see why you object to my reference to Thomas Jefferson as an Episcopalian.” In fine condition.
